Substance Abuse Prevention Resources and Education We welcome Cordes Symmes, Student Assistance Program Specialist, Caron Treatment Center, to present PREP: Prevention Resources and Education for Parents. Cordes is passionate about substance use prevention and education. Inspired by his personal journey of recovery, Cordes understands the profound impact substance use can have on individuals and their families. He has extensive expertise in recognizing emerging trends and providing support to adolescents and parents alike. • Learn about current youth substance use trends, such as vaping, and the dangers of use to the developing brain and body. • Empower yourself with effective communication skills in talking with children about alcohol, nicotine and other drug use. • Review the importance of establishing clear rules and consequences at home regarding substance use. • Evaluate resiliency factors that help protect kids from substance use.
